BOOK JACKET SERIES: BEHIND THE POEMS

This book jacket series looks at three poets: Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, and Sylvia Plath. The series focuses on who the person behind the poems were at a deeper level - the content within the books pulling from their life stories and the tragedy that surrounded them.

The covers have subtle touches that relate to each poet’s life - the pressed flowers on Dickinson’s cover indicative of her unrequited love, Poe’s own waterlogged handwriting - reminiscent of the despair within his life and struggle with alcoholism, and Plath’s writing shown as though torn from pages in a journal - showing her deep thoughts and reflections.
